PROCEDURE

• The skin lesion may be biopsied (partially removed and sent for laboratory evaluation/diagnosis) or totally removed after initial anesthetic followed either by a shave, excision or incision and removal.

• If the biopsy suggests malignancy (cancer), a more extensive surgical removal may be contemplated.

• The surgical site usually heals within 2-6 weeks.

• Results will be reported within 1-2 weeks at a recheck visit or telephonically
